ABI has a team of kaimahi (staff) that delivers Living my Life services in the Auckland and Wellington regions. The purpose of Living my Life services is to support those with an injury related disability in areas such as to make choices and have control in decisions about their life, where they live, options available in their community to engage in meaningful activities, enhance cultural connections, participate in work and explore who is providing the care and support if relevant.
The ABI team will support kiritaki (service users) to plan their Living my Life service goals, understand what is available locally, support that access and support the kiritaki to engage in their chosen goals (whether this is via self-management if feasible or via tailored supports from a Living my Life support worker).
The team at ABI includes the following:
- Community Support Workers
- OT, Physiotherapist, Speech and language Therapists, Social Workers
The team deliver all aspects of the ACC Living my Life services including:
- Facilitated pathway map
- Independent Facilitation
- Tailored Supports
If you have a kiritaki with a long term or permanent injury related disability who is wanting to leave home or school, leave a residential service, go flatting, go to University, shift communities or towns/cities or is wanting to enhance their participation in meaning activities with their every day life, community and employment activities, then Living my Life may be a great service for them.
