Intensive Rehabilitation Service Contract Extended

We are pleased to announce that ACC has agreed in principle to extend the Early Intervention-Integrated Rehabilitation Services Contract with ABI Rehabilitation for a further 18 months until 30 June 2012. The Contract, which was a trial of a new model for brain injury rehabilitation, was due to expire on 31st March 2011. ACC conducted an evaluation of the service model at the end of 2010. Some strengths and some weaknesses were identified.

The service model KPIs now agreed with ACC will be closely monitored and good data maintained so that optimal evidence of cost-effectiveness as well as outcomes data for clients and whānau can be part of the evaluation over the next period.
