Careers at ABI Rehabilitation

ABI Rehabilitation New Zealand is a large and growing organisation. As with many specialist areas within the health services in New Zealand, there is a real need to encourage workforce development in the specialty of neuro-rehabilitation. We are always very keen to speak with any health professionals or workers within New Zealand or from overseas who have skills, training or expertise in this field. Our approach is to build a skilled team, so while we do sometimes contract staff to fill gaps our recruitment goals are geared to building our internal skill base and intellectual capital.

A number of things make working at ABI attractive to staff. It is a great and experienced team and many staff comment that the way we work together and share is unique in their experience. There is room and resources to grow and learn and if possible teach. Training, conferences, research opportunities and personal study aspirations figure highly in our service. Our strong university links also provide great opportunities for growth. We have centres in Auckland and Wellington so there is scope to move around.

We know we have to compete for top staff, so working conditions and pay are very competitive. Bureaucracy though is cut to the bone.

We do expect all staff to fully accept the Mission and Values of the organisation, so before you apply, have a look at these. If you feel comfortable with this and want to be challenged, please apply. Brain injury rehabilitation is a challenging area of work but the rewards – personal and professional – are amazing for the right person and we will always treat you with respect.
