Community & Outpatient Services
ABI Rehabilitation provides a range of services for clients living in the community who require specialist assessment or rehabilitation services. Clients are referred to us for these services by their ACC case-owner. We see clients in their home, work place, school or other community settings as appropriate. We are also able to provide services in a clinic based setting.
Our team consists of experienced staff including medical specialists, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, speech language therapists and rehabilitation nurses. Our specialty area is traumatic brain injury rehabilitation however we offer rehabilitation services to other clients with injuries and disabilities such as orthopaedic and non-traumatic medical conditions.
Services we provide include delivering “Training for Independence” programmes, vocational assessments and rehabilitation programmes, psychological services, concussion services, neuropsychological assessments and specialist assessments.
We pride ourselves on being able to provide quality, timely, coordinated, goal focused, and tailor-made rehabilitation services to our clients.
Concussion Assessment and Treatment
ABI Rehabilitation has a contract with ACC to provide services to people with mild traumatic brain injury (concussion). Clients are referred to us for these clinic-based services by their GP, hospital or ACC case-owner.
In Auckland concussion clinics are held at our premises at 89 Grafton Rd, Auckland CBD. In Wellington, clinics are held at various locations. We are also able to provide concussion clinics in Northland by arrangement.

Auckland Outpatient Services
In Auckland, ABI Rehabilitation also provides an outpatient rehabilitation treatment service for clients who have already been through rehabilitation through our Auckland intensive residential service and are now living back in the community.
Outpatient services are provided by a comprehensive team of highly skilled clinicians with expertise in the field of brain injury. On our staff we have medical specialists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, nursing, speech therapists, physiotherapists and social workers. We also work closely with other specialists – such as experts in neuropsychiatry or neurology - that might be part of a client’s rehabilitation treatment plan
For the convenience of our clients we currently have clinics based in Central and West Auckland, and Hamilton. We are also able to provide clinics in Northland by arrangement.
